Spicy Coincidence!

Winter vacations had just got over,
Had to get back to college.
Thanks to the low cost carriers,
That day I was to fly spicejet.

I checked in at the Delhi airport,
Had to pass by an hour.
Was looking for a convenient seat,
My notebook wasn't charged.

Suddenly I was taken aback,
Somebody pushed me from behind.
I turned around in surprise,
And was happy to see my friend.

Fate had it, we were
Bound to take the same flight.
Now the journey would be enjoyable,
Boredom would definitely be set aside.

Instead of just sitting and chatting,
We decided to circle the terminal.
Large number of flights to depart,
There were lot of people.

There we saw a batchmate,
We initially were shy to speak.
Because she is from another department,
We had never had the opportunity to meet.

There was an announcement of flight delay,
Frustrated, she turned around.
I took this chance to go and speak,
Don't know where this courage I found.

"Hi, same institute, right?" I asked.
She took some time but recognised.
"You boarding the spice too?" "Yeah."
"Good! That makes it three of us."

My friend and I had decided,
To cab it to the institute once in Bangalore.
I offered her a ride with us,
She humbly denied the offer; other plan decided yore.

Further delay in flight,
We finally boarded, flew and arrived.
We took the cab, she waited,
Even at the off-peak hour, it was a pathetic drive.

Mumbai Local!

Remembering my Mumbai stay,
Churchgate to Andheri every day,
Packed local train crowd, I must say,
Thank God I was travelling the opposite way.

I had taken a monthly pass,
It enabled me to travel, first class,
Don't even know how time used to pass,
Since I always took the train that was fast.

The other day as I boarded the train,
I saw an inquisitive face looking at me.
She judged that I had taken the clue,
And came up to do an enquiry.

She asked, "Does this train go to Andheri?"
I said, "All trains go to Andheri",
She seemed doubtful on hearing my response,
So I assured, "Even I'm going to Andheri."

She boarded the train as it just started moving,
And took a seat, while I kept standing,
Finally I thought, what the hell,
Sat next to her and started chatting.

"New to Mumbai or new to trains?",
"New to trains," she said.
Great, now I have a topic to start,
Am I really blessed?

I started explaining the various routes,
The various trains that she could take,
The codes of the major stations,
The difference between the class rates.

She asked me if I had any wierd experience,
I didn't get what she was hinting at.
She got the chance to get back,
And narrated her incident offhand.

She had to once run to catch the train,
While returning from work at six,
The train was jam-packed, even first class,
She had no clue, was in a fix.

She got into the reserved section,
For the physically handicapped people,
Where a drunkard set his target,
To make her get down when next possible.

To her safety came this man,
Who calmed that mad man's anger,
She heaved a sigh of relief and sat,
Swored never again to take this danger.

That day it seemed the train moved faster,
It seemed it didn't stop even at Central, Dadar or Bandra,
I saw outside, we'd just reached Andheri,
Can't this journey last a little longer.

But we had to reach our offices,
Getting late won't have taken us anywhere.
So here we parted ways,
I moved towards the east, she went west.

"Let's hope we travel together again some time", I said,
Didn't even ask for her number,
How dumb of me to leave everything to fate,
I'm still looking for that sweet stranger.

Rain, rain, rain even more...

My friend & I were stranded in the rain, Outside a lab in college...
I asked this guy to let us in, He said it is forbidden.

Taken aback, we just stood there, Took a while, but another guy came.
Apprehensive, he wouldn't dare, He said ask the prof to do the same.

At first I thought he'd be freaky, But he turned out to be rather understanding,
Not only did he arrange our entry, But also allowed us lobby seating.

Had to pass time, so we started browsing, Thank god our notebooks were fully charged,
Because it was heavily raining, And else we would have got completely bored.

And then I saw this cute girl, As she passed by me in the lobby,
I've seen her before on colleges strolls, Come on, it's every boy's hobby.

When she went by a second time, All I did was pass her a smile.
I know she recognises me too, It's been a year, I'm not new.

But she didn't give a reaction, Just walked away as nothing had happened.
I thought, how rude, how she could, And bitched about her to my friend.

However, after a few seconds, Someone passed behind me,
She hit the chair with her hand, And sent a jolt inside me.

It was her, what was she playing, But fate had a separate plan.
My friend saw that it stopped raining, To the hostel we made a dash.

That's the end of a wonderful tale, Or is it an end, who knows.
I'm just hoping it again begins to rain, And I get trapped at that door.
